This has been a tricky start of the school year. After a rocky spring for many families, parents are worried their learners won’t be assessed and starting the learning process in an appropriate place.
It feels like many schools are more worried about filling seats–both in-person and virtually–and maintaining order than ensuring students are getting the academic support and attention they so desperately need.
Worried about where your child is academically and that appropriate placement assessments aren’t happening? LEADPrep has it covered. Just two weeks into the new school year, all students have completed baseline writing and math assessments. Pandemic and summer learning loss in math is especially concerning to families. Each LEADPrep student’s math program…with the expectation of making a year’s progress (from this fall’s baseline) is happening.
LEADPrep math is competency-based, so students progress as they demonstrate 80% or higher mastery of a skill. With small class sizes, students get as much math support (or independence) as needed.
Our 1:6 teacher/student ratio means each teacher knows each student and they adjust instruction accordingly. This also allows for students to craft their projects to expand on their interests…providing the “agency” of student voice and choice.
Need your child to connect with peers and get to socialize? This is critical for the mental health of many of our tweens and teens. LEADPrep’s in-person afternoons provide social-distancing, outdoor learning.
Would you like to make sure teachers know your child’s abilities and personalize learning for success this fall? And that your student is connecting with peers? We are enrolling…and have scholarships available, as needed. Email us today! Or come to our October 27 Open House.
