He does not mean to imply that great learning is NOT happening is school, or that all the learning students get outside of school is actually meaningful.
“But there is a growing argument that the most powerful, relevant learning for today’s students is happening when they connect with the rapidly changing world beyond the school walls to solve problems, explore ideas, rally for a cause, or learn a new technical skill.”

For most students, going through public schools, there is a feeling that they are not being completely prepared for the economic changes ahead of them.
Most students find they are not being taught how to solve real problems, how to explore new ideas, and how to make a difference in the world.
Students in public schools hand in assignments and get grades. Standardized tests require students to memorize facts and figures. They don’t require students to get excited about something that interests them and push them to find out more.
At LEADPrep, our teachers and curriculum use design thinking to integrate what students need to know inside the classroom with what students can learn outside the classroom.
Students are encouraged to show leadership, think outside the box, and use their curiosity to broaden their education.
