Are you a LEADPrep type of student?
Read our vision, mission, values, and philosophy and decide for yourself!
VISION. We are redesigning secondary school education using real-world and STEM content with cutting edge project-based, “flipped,” and personalized learning to form tomorrow’s ethical leaders.
MISSION. At LEADPrep we foster an educational community that cultivates authentic voices and strengths. We empower students to be fearless in their individuality and also courageous as local and global leaders.
CORE VALUES. LEADPrep is committed to:
- Exceptional education through authentic engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Intentional welcome as a learning community that cultivates diversity and empathy in a setting where each student truly belongs.
- Development of leadership skills with an emphasis on lifelong service and ethical growth.
- Reliability, responsiveness, and engagement. At all levels, we opt in, actively participate, listen, and seek win-win outcomes.
- Curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
- Teamwork to make the dream work through respect, cooperation, and accountability.
- Respectful and transparent communication guided by the rule of good intention.
- Holistic well-being including kindness, fun, self-care, and life balance.
PHILOSOPHY. We believe that students should be active learners who make real choices regarding their learning environments. We believe that all students should have the opportunity for personalized, inclusive education and to utilize today’s technology to prepare for the future.
Most of our students start at the beginning of the school year (August 30 this fall). However, we welcome year-round enrollment. LEADPrep is a project-based personalized school. Our students commit to being active learners, fully engaged in their learning experience.
Getting the right “fit” is our top priority. Our model allows for diverse learners, including gifted or learning challenged, to thrive. To make sure that students are the right fit for maximum success, reference letters, and communication with previous schools will be used in the admission process.
Seattle or Kirkland?
Our LEADPrep community has extended to North Seattle: Greenwood. The learning model is the same at both sites and on Fridays the two groups combine for our experiential learning activities and Northwest PE. We are pleased to provide this geographic flexibility for our families.
Admissions Timeline and Process
As a part of the Puget Sound Independent School (PSIS) network, we use the PSIS timeline and Ravenna Solutions common application and process for all 2018-19 applications through the January 11, 2018, deadline for preferential admission. After that date contact firstname.lastname@example.org for application information.
Thursday, January 11: Preferential application deadline
Friday, February 23: High school admission decisions sent
Tuesday, March 6: High school family response deadline

Once you have decided LEADPrep may be a good fit, the next step is to create an admission account in Ravenna, our online application management system. Through Ravenna, families manage their application, complete required forms, and request teacher evaluations and transcripts.

Financial aid is based on need.
Financial Aid Application (Online)
We partner with School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS in our financial aid process. To begin your financial aid application, you will complete SSS’s Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS).
The PFS is a comprehensive application that will take some time to complete
Give yourself the time you need by not waiting until the deadline to begin. You’ll need your most recent tax return before beginning the PFS. We also recommend that you review the wide range of materials that SSS has put together to help families with the financial aid process. They can be found at http://sssbynais.org/parents.
We will communicate our financial aid decision to you. To make our decision, we use the information from the PFS as a starting point but also consider our school policy, practices, and available budget.
Begin a PFS for Academic Year 2016-17. You can log out of the PFS Online at any time, then return later to complete it.
The fee of $47 is nonrefundable. Once your PFS is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn from the SSS system.
