Who’s a LEADPrep learner?
Great question. If your learner is looking for a place where they are seen, heard, valued and thriving, LEADPrep might be a great fit. We provide collaborative, hands-on learning in a caring environment where students can explore their passions. Our intentionally diverse, multi-age student population celebrates differences and a diversity of learners. While we do provide personalized student learning, we are not a specialty school and may not be able to accommodate all learning differences. That said, we find that kids do particularly well here if they have curiosity, are willing to explore, articulate and share their passions, and work as a community member in our close-knit micro-school environment.
Students we do not serve well:
- Students who need a therapeutic approach or highly structured environment
- Students who struggle with significant emotional regulation that is a disruption to the classroom environment
- Students who pose a danger to themselves or others
- Students who pose a flight risk from the school campus or school outings
What is your teacher to student ratio?
We have 11 full-time teachers for a 1:5 teacher/student ratio, allowing for real connection and attention in the classroom.
How do you address student learning and behavioral needs?
We have a Dream Team of specialists (literacy, speech-language pathology, behavioral therapy, counseling, occupational therapy) who consult with classroom observations, teacher training and parent assistance for real-time support of our diverse learners.
Do you provide financial aid or financial assistance?
We pride ourselves on creating a diverse student population, which benefits all our students and supports our philosophy of individualized education. Currently, 39% of our families are receiving financial assistance to cover the cost of tuition.
What other tuition programs do you offer?
We offer a tuition guarantee program to set the annual tuition year by cohort. This new program offers our families the opportunity to lock-in a guaranteed tuition rate during the years their student(s) are in a particular educational stage or division (Middle School or High School) through a Divisional Contract.
Are you an accredited school in the State of Washington?
We have multiple accreditations in the State of Washington and beyond. We have a 501c3 non-profit accreditation, as well as being AdvancED Accredited through NWAC and a candidate member of Northwest Association of Independent Schools. Additonally, we are Flipped Learning Certified, Level-I, as well as a certified No Place for Hate school.
How do you work with local school districts?
We are a Non-Public Agency (NPA), able to receive public school funding, presently from three local school districts.
